How to plan Ramadan 2027: a calm, practical guide

A practical guide to planning Ramadan 2027: intentions, a Quran reading plan, meals, charity, the last ten nights and Eid — step by step.

1. Prepare before the month begins

Ramadan 2027 is expected to begin around 8 February 2027, depending on the moon sighting where you live. Use the weeks before to move your sleep earlier, reduce caffeine, stock the kitchen and decide on your routine.

2. Write your intentions

Choose one main intention and a few small goals in areas like prayer, Quran, family, health, character and giving. Small goals you can keep every day beat big goals you drop after a week.

3. Pick a Quran plan you can keep

One juz a day (about 20 pages) finishes the Quran once in the month. If that is too much, four pages after each of the five prayers adds up to the same. Track each juz as you finish it.

4. Plan meals by the week

Plan suhoor and iftar for seven days at a time and shop once. Simple, nourishing suhoor meals with water and slow energy make the fast easier, and planning saves time for worship.

5. Give, reflect and prepare for Eid

Keep a simple charity log, plan your zakat al-fitr, give extra focus to the last ten nights and plan Eid gifts and visits early so the final days stay calm.
